How To Get More Energy In CityVille

One of the very important gameplay elements of CityVille is Energy, since you need energy in order to build structures, collect coins, chop trees and, basically, to keep your city running. Therefore, I have decided to create this Energy guide and let you know how to get more energy in CityVille.

1. Wait – this is the obvious way of getting the energy you need, but it, once again obviously, takes time. You get one energy every 5 minutes, so it’s not really the best way to do it.

2. Visit friends – this is a huge source of CityVille energy at least now, early on: you get 3 energy points for visiting a friend, so get as many as possible to take advantage of this while it lasts (I am very sure that once the game becomes very popular, the energy you’ll get from visiting friends will be decreased!)

3. Gifts – you can get 1, 2 or 3 energy points as free gifts from your friends, therefore make sure add more CityVille neighbors here in order to improve the chances of receiving extra energy (and, of course, send some to your friends too, so they can see that you are… uhm… friendly!)

4. Energy Batteries – if you have some City Cash to spare, then you can get some extra energy by purchasing batteries from the market. These cost 3, 6 or 9 City Cash and refill 3, 7 or 12 energy. It’s a nice source of energy, but it also costs quite a lot!

5. Trade in Collections – there are collections you can complete in CityVille that, once traded in, will give you some extra energy. For example, the Early Riser Collection and Game Collection will give you three energy each once traded in. Wait a little while for a complete CityVille collection guide to find out everything about this feature!

6. Level up – I know that this doesn’t really count as you can’t do too much about this, but it’s worth noting that leveling up restores a big portion of your energy (12 right now, but Zynga might go for a complete refill in the future).

7. Be active in the game – simply collect coins, harvest and chop trees – any of these actions can give you, randomly, energy in return, so it pays to be active and get lucky every now and then.
